About Queer Run Club

Creating welcoming spaces for LGBTQIA+ runners everywhere

Queer Run Club Sydney was established in 2024 as a vibrant gathering for all who identify as queer or stand in solidarity, seeking to casually run, walk, or otherwise move while forging friendships together.

In every way LGBTQIA+SB inclusive, social first. Walkers and runners of every skill level are warmly embraced—no prior experience needed!

You can be as passionate or dispassionate about fitness as you'd like! Some of us run a lot, some don't run at all. If you're hesitant, please come along and we'll find a way to include you too!

Social First

We prioritize community and connection over performance. Whether you're here to run fast or just show up, you belong.

All Paces Welcome

From sprinters to walkers, beginners to experienced runners, everyone is celebrated at their own pace.

Inclusive & Safe

We create affirming spaces for LGBTQIA+ folks and allies, where everyone can be their authentic selves.

Community Driven

Built by the community, for the community. We're here to support each other and grow together.

Acknowledgement of Country

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which we run, the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation. We pay our respects to Elders past, present, and future, and extend that respect to any Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people here today.

We also acknowledge that among the First Nations peoples of this continent are sistergirls, brotherboys, and vibrant queer people who have always been part of community and culture, and we honor their enduring presence and wisdom.

As we gather to run, we recognize we stand on the shoulders of countless queer ancestors—those who fought, loved, and stood proud so that we could be here today, celebrating who we are.

Sovereignty was never ceded. Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.

Running is for everyone.
