Our mission, values, and community guidelines
Queer Run Club Sydney is an LGBTQIA+ inclusive running, walking, and social club. This terms of reference encompasses members of Queer Run Club Sydney and values sexual and gender diversity within the running community and beyond. QRC members do not need to identify as members of the LGBTQIA+ community however must identify as allies to the community and invest a personal interest in fostering inclusive environments for all.
Mission Statement
Queer Run Club Sydney creates a safe, welcoming space for LGBTQIA+ people and allies to enjoy running, walking, and movement together. We came together after identifying the value of fostering and expanding self-respect of non-normative gender and sexual identities.
We aim to promote understanding by advocating for and creating trans and queer friendly running spaces and events. We address the struggle and complexities of sport for people of diverse genders, sexes and sexualities and re-conceptualize the relationship between sport, gender identity and body image.
Given the heteronormativity of athletics and sport culture, Queer Run Club Sydney aims to create a space for this community to grow and diversify. We also seek to address femme invisibility, racism, trans acceptance, and fat phobia.
All levels are welcome from beginner to advanced. At the heart of our values is creating an inclusive, diverse, and empowering environment where LGBTQIA+ folk can be their true selves, learn new skills, participate in active social sport, and connect with the outdoors.

We also acknowledge that among the First Nations peoples of this continent are sistergirls, brotherboys, and vibrant queer people who have always been part of community and culture, and we honor their enduring presence and wisdom.
As we gather to run, we recognize we stand on the shoulders of countless queer ancestors—those who fought, loved, and stood proud so that we could be here today, celebrating who we are.
Running is for everyone.
